All of my work includes images of living things whether it be of people or animals. Most of my pieces also include heavy use of blue as the background or accent color. Because blue is a color that rarely exists in nature, it can be very eye-catching while conveying numerous emotions from tranquility to sorrow. I use a variety of drawing and painting mediums in my work, though my preferred medium is oil paint. I focus in most of my pieces on making very smooth blended marks, to create realistic images; however, I have also experimented with using intentional brushstrokes to create texture. It’s very important for me to use my art to discuss issues that are relevant to me. My goal with a lot of my art is to create a statement. For example, I created five paintings of endangered species to bring awareness to conservation.
