The artwork explores relationships through color. To evoke thoughts about relationships with other people in my viewers, I have experimented with different materials to reach people in different ways. I use color to show passion, love, and connection. My favorite medium is oil paint; I love to use bright colors that make my work highly pigmented and opaque. When I paint, I make my subjects more colorful than the background to draw attention to them; I still use color in my background for unity, but it is much more muted. I will continue to interweave different levels of saturation in my pieces to build on my theme of color reflecting connection.
