Eliza Ansari
My artwork serves as an outlet for the teenage demographic. By depicting nondescript emotions or contradicting the emotion of my painting’s subject with the color palette, I allow for a lack of clarity, thus aiming to allow the viewer to project their emotion onto my pieces, tailoring it to their life. I like to depict candid everyday scenes in either oil or watercolor paint, sometimes embellished with surrealist elements whose open ended nature allows viewers the grace to villainize or glorify the subject of my paintings. A painful lesson I have learned from growing up is that emotions swing and relationships change, so by portraying people as ambiguously as possible my artwork embraces change and the vast spectrum of teenage life.
