Etta Williamson
My artwork is almost all painted with watercolor on either hot or cold press paper. It ranges from light colored and pastel to very layered and dark. My art communicates what it can feel like to be a woman and how women are perceived in society. I incorporate themes of nature mainly because I think nature is beautiful but also because nature is often depicted as a woman and I think that is very cool. My inspirations are nature and the human form, which I think are both very enjoyable things to paint and draw. I would like my audience to sympathize with or relate to the women I paint. I think that my tiger painting especially evokes a quiet rage that I believe a lot of people can relate to.
