How does being an outsider influence your view of the world? I have struggled to form relationships with my peers throughout my life. Over the years, I have connected with people by sharing common interests and hobbies. Through my art, I share my view of the world by portraying sentiments through fantastical means. This has helped me navigate a fear of growing up. Through the development of my work, I see that each piece reveals a part of my personal interior world.
Throughout my life, I have focused on designing characters. I go through a process of research and seeking common literary devices to implement into their backstories. My investigation has allowed me to venture out of my comfort zone and experiment with different themes and styles. I'm able to more effectively use colors and backgrounds to enhance the story of my characters. A great example of this Las Lagrimas in which I celebrate the living memories of those who've passed. Another example of this is Fading Childhood where I portray memories, longing of simpler times with muted color.
